Edward Powell
Edward, the eldest son, married twice. His first marriage to Emma Haywood resulted in five children. Emma tragically passed away due to childbirth complications.
In 1952, Edward married Mary Lee Weston, and together they had six children.

Edward was a hardworking fisherman who knit shrimp and fish nets in his free time. He was outspoken, humorous, and known for telling untruths and jokes—but always had a strong conscience.
Faith & Sayings
Though he didn’t attend church regularly, Edward insisted his faith lived in his heart. His favorite hymn was “The Lord Will Make a Way Somehow.”
His favorite slogan was “fa shae-shae,” whatever that meant.
